The Crestfield began as an architectural concept exploring modular aggregation, rhythmic roofscapes, and the expressive potential of timber structures. Conceived as a system rather than a singular object, the project investigated how repeated units could form a landscape of crests, shadows, and protected interior spaces.
This conceptual framework later evolved into an eco-resort imagined for the Sahara Desert through a collaboration between AB12 Studios and Espartacode (AI Seed). The project shifted from an abstract study to a spatially and atmospherically grounded proposal, where architecture, environment, and experience became inseparable.
Through an iterative dialogue between design intention and AI-generated interpretation, the project gained material depth, environmental realism, and human scale. The collaboration allowed the original architectural language to be tested, expanded, and reimagined, not as a final object, but as a lived scenario.
The resulting vision proposes a low-impact desert retreat where timber structures rise from a mineral base, shaping shaded interiors, framed views, and a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape. The Crestfield stands as an exploration of emerging design workflows, where concept design and artificial intelligence work together to extend architectural imagination.
