Set against the backdrop of the island of Brac, Croatia, near the picturesque town of Pucisca, this renovation project breathes new life into a historic stone house-villa. Seamlessly blending the timeless charm of Mediterranean tradition with sleek modern design, the transformation preserves the original stone exterior, while completely reimagining the interior.
The aging roof is replaced with a modern structure, enhancing the villa's architectural profile. The new roof features a light grey metal cladding on the outside, which harmonizes with the natural stone exterior, while the interior showcases exposed wooden beams, adding warmth and a rustic touch. The increased roof height allows for the creation of a wooden mezzanine, adding a cozy yet spacious living area that capitalizes on the vertical space.
Complementing the structural enhancements, the villa's outdoor spaces are thoughtfully redesigned. Wooden pergolas extend from the house, creating shaded areas perfect for outdoor lounging, dining, and enjoying the Mediterranean climate. New vegetation, including native plants and trees, is integrated into the landscape, enhancing the villa's natural beauty and providing a lush, serene environment.
This renovation masterfully combines the timeless elegance of traditional Croatian architecture with the sleek functionality of contemporary design, resulting in a stunning villa that offers both historical charm and modern comfort.
Old and modern, together. This historic stone house renovation blends Croatian traditional architecture with contemporary design into one stunning villa.
